Groundwork; Could Be; Comfort.
GROUNDWORK
Friendship
chipping through the shell
of each unknown,
looking for the ease of
snug-fitting familiarity
to slip over our relationship.

Do not feel we have
a ready-made protected bond
against Love's stressors.
we have not yet been buffeted
to breaking point.

Be content for
now to go slowly.
I am your acquaintance

I would like to be your Friend.

COULD BE YOU,COULD BE ME

How are we different,
how the same ?
woman
man
cast in the same
mold of human feelings
common to life

or death

Synchronize
experience
from east to
west
seven-league boots
across
our differences

finding
laughter
does not change
with colour
tears
with skin

********

COMFORT

hush
cradle me
in the soft
places of your
gentle
ways

speak
with your
eyes
warm cold
doubts
with hands

Tiredly
leaning
on the
solidness of
your
Love
