unallowed and hidden far beyond the distant wounds stifled -- any echo of a scream, by distant threat from voiceless voices still repeating that to talk is death lost - scenes blanked out by memory shutting off the pain, and numbing feeling in the child's dead heart fathomless - grief for loss unmeasureable unretrievable - and tied to years that will not come again sanity - held by filigree of lines drawn finely thru' the battle and the torture of survival longing - empty as the deadest eyes that look into abuse and know no words will ever tell it all silence - blanketing the secrets keening to be heard and seething through the flooding of their birth where the journey through child's infant wail - where reprieve from legacy of fear? is there choice? diminish all the hurt not knowing how to cry - or should it all be left untouched? so - undisguised - awareness pushes upward through the weighted pain is there freedom? will time ever finish with old knowledge leap ahead to understanding?
