 SIDE BY SIDE reflects how we have dealt with 'self ', for we cannot give to anyone that which we,ourselves, do not possess. - Goessoftly Those who have been in, and are, in the Healing Process, know very well that the majority of the work is done outside of the therapy session in the battle of the heart and unseen by few,if anyone else. Never-the-less The Healing Process is one where seeker of Healing and the Healer work SIDE BY SIDE and because of the huge amount of "working through" that an individual must process alone it makes the short session with the Therapist even more crucial that the time not be wasted or misused. The articles here are some thoughts of mine concerning the pitfalls and errors we, as therapists, can fall into and can avoid if made aware. Perhaps they can be a little help if they are things others in the health professions have not thought of, or have difficulty with. Ours is not an easy task, but compared to the struggle of our clients who do the majority of the work it behooves us to do our best to understand, hear and support them. I am constantly working on my own healing and realize so clearly that the limit of my helping others is confined to the limit I place on myself in the honesty I am willing for, and the vulnerability and risk I will take in self-examination.
